Seoul based South Korea Photographer SeongJoon Cho is an award-winning photographer specializing in aerial photography and video using a drone. He is the author of book ‘Drone-World from Above’.
He began his photography career working for his college’s English magazine in 1999. After studying documentary photography at Chung-Ang University in South Korea, he has been working as an editorial and commercial photographer. He has had six solo exhibitions and many other group exhibitions.
Over the years he has traveled internationally documenting special moments that mark our times. His work has been published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time magazine and National Geographic Traveler magazine among other prominent publications around the world. He is currently working as a contributing photographer and videographer for Bloomberg News based in Seoul, South Korea. As a Bloomberg photographer, he has covered tons of international events such as 2019 Hanoi DPRK-USA Summit, 2018 Singapore DPRK-USA Summit, 2018 IMF Annual Meetings Bali, 2016~2018 Singapore Airshow, 2017 APEC Vietnam, 2015 APEC Philippines and 2013 APEC Indonesia. His commercial clients also include Samsung Electronics, Aggreko, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, Air Liquide, Hankook Tire, Landing International, Canon and many other global companies.
Whenever he takes his camera, he approaches his subject with professionalism, integrity, and dedication. His first crafted photography book, South Korea; Memories of the Heart, was published in Canada in 2011. Not only is Cho an Eddie Adams Workshop alumnus, but he won the prize in 2006.
